‘I was bowled over’: Aamir Khan on Sparsh Srivastava’s performance in Laapataa Ladies
Laapataa Ladies recently resurfaced in the limelight following its OTT premiere, which ignited fresh discussions and praise from those who missed the film’s theatrical release. Spearheaded by Kiran Rao and backed by Aamir Khan, Laapataa Ladies boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Chhaya Kadam, Ravi Kishan, and Sparsh Shrivastava, the standout performer.
During Netflix India’s recent interview moderated by Neelesh Misra, Aamir Khan took a moment to applaud the remarkable performances in the film. In particular, he praised Sparsh Shrivastava for his role. “When I saw the film for the first time, every actor did a great job. These three also did a great job. You fulfilled your roles with such flair,” shared Aamir.
However, it was Sparsh Srivastava’s portrayal that caught him off guard. “But the character that surprised me was Sparsh’s. His performance shocked me. I could see the others’ performance on paper itself. But Sparsh’s character wasn’t written so clearly on paper. He had nothing to do; he was just panicking and running around. But when I saw him enact it, I was bowled over. The way he has performed it, your heart goes out to him,” exclaimed the Laapataa Ladies producer.
For those unaware, Srivastava first gained widespread recognition with his debut on the OTT release, Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega, on Netflix. Now, the actor is experiencing an even greater level of acclaim and appreciation from audiences and industry veterans alike, as he delivers another stellar performance in Laapataa Ladies, marking a significant milestone in his streaming career.
