Telugu star Naga Chaitanya will soon play a unique role in the upcoming movie Thandel. As per the first glimpse of the film, the actor has worked tremendously on his appearance to fit into the character. Also starring Sai Pallavi, fans are excited to see the duo come together for an action thriller. The latest report claims that the film makers have sealed its OTT deal.
The upcoming movie is helmed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya 2 fame. It is bankrolled by Geetha Arts. The film’s alleged budget is a whopping $6.58 million. As a result, it marks the biggest movie of Chaitanya’s career.
Thandel’s digital rights bagged by Netflix?
According to a report by OTTplay, Netflix has bagged the digital rights to Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel. The deal has allegedly brought a lot of money to the new production, as the OTT giant paid a whopping $4.8 million to acquire the streaming rights. The heavy-budget deal has confirmed the massive buzz around the movie.
Thandel allegedly follows the story of a fisherman played by Naga Chaitanya. As he gets stuck in the territorial waters of Pakistan, he faces the most challenging time while being tortured by the neighboring country’s authorities. Sai Pallavi plays the leading lady and is Chaitanya’s love interest in the film. Thandel marks the second collaboration between the two actors after the 2021 movie Prema Theeram, aka Love Story.
The report also claims that Naga Chaitanya has given his best performance in the upcoming film. Moreover, the movie is witnessing a noteworthy pre-release business. It is slated to hit the theaters on December 20, 2024.
While the movie’s OTT release date has not been confirmed yet, most Telugu movies follow a four-week pattern. Therefore, it is expected to be available on Netflix at least four weeks after its theatrical release.
