Telugu star Ram Pothineni’s upcoming movie Double iSmart is among the most anticipated projects of the year. It has been several months since the movie went on floors, but it has again faced a roadblock.
Since its announcement, the film has been delayed several times while its production is in the works. However, for some reason, the movie has now been allegedly halted.
Several reports claim that the movie’s temporary break is due to Ram Pothineni’s issues with remuneration. However, according to OTTplay, the reason behind the halt is different.
Why is Double iSmart shooting on a temporary break?
Rumor has it that Pothineni had issues regarding his pay with the movie’s producers, which caused him to refuse to continue the shoot. However, the report claims that the rumors are false.
The actual reason behind another delay in Double iSmart’s production is its financial issues. A source close to the development revealed that Ram has already completed most of his part of the shoot and has taken a token in advance. The source added, “Due to some financial issues, the shoot has been halted, and not due to Ram’s demands.”
The source further spilled beans on Ram Pothineni’s fee for Double iSmart. It turns out that the actor has allegedly agreed to take a share of the movie’s profits. Moreover, the source slammed the rumors about Pothineni being the reason behind the movie’s delay, claiming the actor does not get involved in controversies. His name is allegedly only being dragged.
Double iSmart is the official sequel to the 2019 hit film iSmart Shankar. Puri Jagannadh is helming the project and is allegedly looking for more financers to complete it. Besides Pothineni, the movie also stars Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in a key role.
Double iSmart is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2024.
