The recent announcement of Rajkummar Rao‘s upcoming movie Srikanth has sparked widespread curiosity among fans. The trailer release of this much-anticipated film has further ignited conversation across various platforms. However, what is piquing everyone’s interest is whether Srikanth is based on a true story and who exactly is Srikanth Bolla.
Srikanth movie real story: Who is Srikanth Bolla?
In this forthcoming film, Rajkummar Rao steps into the shoes of industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The movie chronicles the remarkable odyssey of the visually challenged personality who defied all odds, carving a path to education and empowerment, not just for himself but for countless others like him.
Srikanth Bolla’s life story is nothing short of extraordinary. Born into a world where his disability was deemed as a burden, Srikanth faced numerous challenges from the very beginning. Nevertheless, he turned the adversity into opportunity. He became the first international blind student to graduate from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.
However, his path to success was not without obstacles. Despite facing restrictions on studying science in 12th grade and being refused admission to coaching institutes for IIT, he persevered through every challenge to achieve his dreams.
Undeterred by setbacks, he embarked on a mission to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities in India. In 2012, he founded Bollant Industries, a pioneering venture that produces areca-based products while providing employment opportunities for hundreds of individuals with disabilities.
In addition, he has co-founded the Samanval Center for Children with Multiple Disabilities. It offers various services to empower students with disabilities to lead independent and self-sustainable lives. Furthermore, as the director of Surge Impact Foundation, Srikanth works tirelessly to advance the Sustainable Development Goals in India.
Srikanth, starring Rajkummar Rao and directed by Tushar Hiranandani, will hit theatres on May 10, 2024.
