Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s latest movie Family Star is running in the theaters. The movie was released on April 5 and opened up to poor reviews that did not meet the expectations of its makers. The movie’s makers had anticipated that the movie would become a major hit due to its family entertainer theme. However, the audience’s reactions have seemingly upset them. Producer Dil Raju has broken his silence on the reviews.
Dil Raju was rigorously promoting Family Star for the past few weeks along with Deverakonda and Thakur. The producer mentioned during a pre-release event that the movie would receive mixed reactions. But, following the below-average remarks, Raju has claimed it is an online campaign against the movie.
Producer Dil Raju calls Family Star’s negative reviews an online campaign
As per OTTplay, Dil Raju recently broke the silence on Family Star not achieving the height the makers had anticipated in a conversation with a Telugu news channel. He claimed it was a systematic online campaign to sabotage the movie’s box office collection. Defending the Vijay Deverakonda starrer, the producer alleged that the family audiences are thoroughly enjoying the movie. Moreover, he added how the movie has reached its target audience but if the online trend continues, it will affect the producers.
The producer further cited an example of a three-day ban on online reviews and mentioned how it should be enforced in the Telugu film industry as well. He said, “In Kerala, a court has directed to stop publishing reviews for three days after a film’s release. Something like this should be enforced here too for the betterment of our industry.” Dil Raju added, “We made a good movie, please come to the theatre and watch it. If you like it, tell it to others.”
He also requested the audience not to force their reviews on others.
