Anupama Parameswaran’s latest sequel, Tillu Square, has created a buzz in theatres since its release on March 29, 2024. It’s been a week since the movie’s release, and fans are eager to know about its day six collection. Reportedly, Tillu Square has been experiencing steady growth in its collection and is on the brink of reaching a new milestone.
Directed by Mallik Ram, Tillu Square is the sequel to the 2022 film DJ Tillu. It stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles. The film has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. One notable aspect that has sparked among the audience is Anupama’s bold look in poster and liplock scenes in the movie.
According to Hindustan Times, Anupama Parameswaran chose not to attend the pre-release event due to discomfort with the discussions surrounding the posters. During the event, Siddu Jonnalagadda took the stage and addressed the issue, stating, “People have talked a lot about the film’s posters. I understand we are actors and a lot of things are said about us. But having said that, I feel that when we talk about women, we need to be careful.”
He further said, “Even in real life, if you talk or flirt with a woman, she should be comfortable with it, right? The same goes for actors, it’s quite sensitive. So, let’s maintain a healthy atmosphere.”
Tillu Square inches closer to new milestone by day 6
According to sacnilk, Tillu Square began its box office run with an impressive collection of $1.3 million on its opening day. However, on the 2nd day, the collection witnessed a slight decline of -8.48%, amounting to $1.2 million. On Day 4, the collection saw a significant dip of -43.69%, at $749 thousand.
This brought its overall 6-day net collection in India to $5.5 million. On a global scale, Tillu Square has minted around $9 million in worldwide collections. With its steady growth, the film soon enters the $11.9 million (₹100 Crore) club, marking a new achievement. It will be interesting to see how early Mallik Ram’s masterpiece will touch this mark.
