Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest survival drama, Aadujeevitham, has been creating a buzz in theaters since its release on March 28, 2024. While the movie opened with a big bang at the box office, there has been a slight dip in subsequent days. As it enters day 8 in theaters, fans are eager to know its worldwide collection.
Directed by Blessy, Aadujeevitham hit theaters in multiple languages. According to the Times of India, the film has grossed over $319K, with 165,723 tickets sold just in Kerala in booking collections. Following its massive theatrical release response, fans eagerly anticipate its OTT debut. Recent reports confirm that Disney Plus Hotstar has acquired the movie’s post-theatrical streaming rights. However, there is no confirmation regarding a tentative release date. It’s important to note that while speculation surrounds the OTT release, an official announcement is still awaited.
Based on the novel by Benyamin, Aadujeevitham features Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role alongside Amala Paul, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Shobha Mohan, and others. The film narrates the true story of Najeeb, who finds himself in a dire situation while seeking job opportunities in Saudi Arabia. It explores Najeeb’s incredible survival journey in the desert for almost 3.5 years, during which he lives among goats without any human interaction.
Aadujeevitham worldwide box office collection explored
According to sacnilk, Aadujeevitham began its box office run with an impressive collection of $910k on its opening day. However, on the 2nd day, the collection witnessed a slight decline of -17.76%, amounting to $747k. Days 3 and 4 saw an increment in the collection. Bringing its overall 7-day net collection to $5.2 million in India. Additionally, the film’s gross collection reached $5.5 million. On a global scale, Aadujeevitham minted around $9.7 million in worldwide collections. It’s important to note that these figures are subject to change over time.
For those unaware, Aadujeevitham took over 15 years of hard work to hit the silver screens. The lead actor underwent a remarkable transformation for the role of Najeeb, losing around 31 kgs by fasting for up to 72 hours.
