Gaami premiered in theaters on March 8, 2024, capturing the audience’s attention with its captivating storyline and remarkable filmmaking. The film delivers a unique narrative that was received well at the box office. Recent updates confirm that the film will soon be available for OTT.
Directed by Vidyadhar Kagita, Gaami features Vishwak Sen and Chandini Chowdary in the lead roles. Others in the ensemble cast include Abhinaya, Harika Pedda, Dayanand Reddy, Shanti Rao, and so on. The story revolves around the “Aghora,” who suffers from a disease that prevents him from touching or being touched by anyone.
To cure this disease, he embarks on a journey in the deep Himalayas in search of the Maali leaves, which blossom once every 36 years. However, the twist is that he must complete his journey within a specified time. Otherwise, he will have to wait another 36 years to start again.
Filmed amidst the rugged beauty of Khatling, Pangong, Khardungla, Zanskar, and Leh during the winter months, Gaami brings a touch of authenticity to the screen. Reportedly, it took almost 6 years to hit the silver screens. The film saw the light of day through a crowdfunding campaign on social media in July 2018.
When is Gaami coming on OTT?
Recent updates have revealed that Gaami may be available to stream on Zee5. Furthermore, reports state that the film might be available on the platform starting April 12, 2024. However, an official confirmation from the makers is yet to be received.
Meanwhile, lead actor Vishwak Sen is preparing for his upcoming film titled Gangs of Godavari. Krishna Chaitanya is set to direct the film, scheduled for release on May 17, 2024. The film also stars Neha Shetty, Anjali, Nassar, and P. Sai Kumar.
