Dil Raju shares his verdict for Family Star
The makers of Family Star recently held a pre-release event in Hyderabad. Apart from Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, producer Dil Raju was also in attendance. As per OTTplay, during the event, the producer shared his verdict on the movie. He revealed that the upcoming film will revive a response similar to his 2017 romance drama, Shatamanam Bhavati.
Talking about the 2017 movie, Dil Raju said, “When the film was released, many compared it to a TV serial. But Shatamanam Bhavati made great numbers at the box office thanks to the family audience. The same will happen with Family Star and I know for a fact that the film will open to a mixed response.”
However, the producer has immense faith in the movie and believes it will perform well. He said, “I loved Vijay Deverakonda’s role in the film. He plays a son, lover, and husband, and handles so many issues in Family Star. Everyone is thinking Family Star is an out-and-out family drama. Only 30% of the film is family drama and the rest is a superb romantic comedy.”
Actor Vijay Deverakonda also showcased his dedication to the movie during the event. The actor revealed that he was rejected by Dil Raju’s production house twice in his career. Therefore, he promised himself to headline a movie bankrolled by Raju. The actor’s dream has come true with Family Star.
Whether or not the movie receives a mixed response, it will be revealed on its release. The film will hit the theaters on April 5, 2024.
