Jab We Met sequel cast: Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra could be in it
In a recent interview, Imtiaz Ali shared that he has no intention of making a sequel to the blockbuster movie Jab We Met. He is well aware of the persistent demand from fans but wishes to keep it in the past.
He said, “When the film was re-released in theaters last year, people really gave a lot of love. I was shooting in Punjab and I would hear that the audiences are dancing in cinema halls etc. For one minute I would have that feeling, I wish I was there. Now it’s been 16 years, and I feel that the film is not mine, it’s the audience’s film and they celebrate it. I look at ‘Jab We Met’ like an old friend rather than my own film now.”
Expressing his appreciation for the movie’s legacy, he said that he doesn’t want to make a sequel as he feels the movie is complete. The filmmaker hasn’t thought of ever making a sequel to the movie. However, he added that if it were ever to get a sequel, he would like to cast Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in it.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently gearing up for the release of Crew. The movie also stars Tabu and Kriti Sanon and will hit theatres on March 29, 2024. On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor last appeared in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and recently announced his next project, Ashwatthama. As for Imtiaz Ali, Netflix has slated the release of his upcoming project, Amar Singh Chamkila, for April 12, 2024.
Jab We Met is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
