Ranveer Singh‘s highly anticipated project, Don 3, has been making waves since its announcement. However, according to latest reports, the film might release later than expected. Director Farhan Akhtar had revealed the third film in the Don franchise in 2023. He is co-producing the action-thriller with Ritesh Sindhwani. Don 3 will also star Kiara Advani.
As per the reports, the filming of Don 3 has been postponed, which will also impact its release date. The action-thriller will reportedly be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after it hits the silver screen. Check out the title announcement clip for the movie:
Don 3 expected to start shooting by the end of 2024
Don 3 was speculated to go on floors in August 2024. However, as per latest reports, Farhan has decided to postpone the film. The director is reportedly starting a different project in July where he stars as an actor. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are expecting their first child in September 2024.
According to a source, the makers of Don 3 are having a hard time casting the film’s antagonist. Speculations were rife that Emraan Hashmi might play the negative role, but the actor has since clarified that the rumors are false. The source also revealed that the writers of the action-thriller are working to add more elements to the character to make it more appealing.
In a conversation with BBC, Farhan addressed his decision to cast Ranveer in Don 3. He said, “I am looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing, he is great for the part. He is also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous for the part that he will be filling some big shoes.”
He added, “We went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh Khan did it and everyone was like oh my god, how can you replace Mr. [Amitabh] Bachchan. You know this whole thing happened then and it is really about an actor coming in, owning a part and giving it their style and their flair. And, he has that.”
