Starring Ajay Devgn, Madhavan, and Jyotika, Vikas Bahl’s supernatural thriller Shaitaan has hit a block in box office numbers. Following a promising kickstart last Friday, the film climbed the collection numbers steadily. However, it witnessed a notable drop in collections on its fourth day.
Shaitaan box office collection day 4: Ajay Devgn’s Movie earns $845K
Shaitaan kicked off its box office journey with a commendable performance. The film premiered on March 8, 2024, raking in an impressive $1.7 million on its opening day. The star-studded cast and thrilling storyline impressed the audience, setting an expectation for what was anticipated to be a successful run at the box office.
The movie witnessed a surge in popularity over the weekend. Shaitaan’s collections soared to $2.2 million on Saturday and $2.4 million on Sunday. However, the escalation in numbers was short-lived as Monday brought a dip in box office figures, marking the fourth day since the film’s release.
According to early estimates provided by the trade website Sacnilk, Shaitaan earned approximately $845.8K in India on day 4. This dip in collections was somewhat anticipated after the opening weekend frenzy. It has brought the total domestic earnings to an estimated $7.3 million across all languages.
However, Shaitaan made a mark in the overseas collection. Ajay Devgn’s film earned $1.68 million during its first weekend. This brought the worldwide weekend gross collection to an impressive $9.80 million. On the whole, this marks Devgn’s second-highest overseas opening.
Shaitaan is directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. Additionally, the film is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujrati film Vash, originally written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. The latest version unfolds a gripping storyline of a family held hostage in their home by a man with supernatural powers.
