Kalki 2898 AD is an upcoming science-fiction dystopian film set to hit the big screens on May 9, 2024. Fans have been eagerly anticipating its release since the makers premiered its glimpse. Adding to the excitement, the makers recently dropped a new poster featuring Prabhas with his character name.
Alongside Prabhas, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. Additionally, the movie stars Disha Patani and Saswata Chatterjee in prominent roles.
Moreover, Nag Ashwin has directed Kalki 2898 AD under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The movie reportedly has a budget of $72.5 million, making it the most expensive Indian production. Originally known as Project K, the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2023.

On March 8, 2024, the makers dropped a new poster featuring Prabhas as Bhairava in Kalki 2898 AD with the caption saying, “From the future streets of Kasi, Introducing ‘BHAIRAVA’ from #Kalki2898AD. #Prabhas #Kalki2898ADonMay9”. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, makers introduced Prabhas as Bhairava, receiving a positive response from netizens.
Reacting to this poster, a Twitter user decoded the poster and wrote, “Kalki2898AD Poster Decode Introducing Rebel Star #Prabhas as ‘BHAIRAVA’ from Kalki 2898 AD, the makers of this film, which is set against the backdrop of both ancient mythology and a distant futuristic dystopian society, the makers revealed a new poster from the future streets of the holy place Kasi”.
The user continued, “While Prabhas looks as destructive as Kala Bhairava with a masculine physique, the background shows the Kasi from the future, and it’s unbelievable to see the spiritual land in such a condition.
“Prabhas sports ponytail, and his dressing style is also well advanced. There is a tattoo on his hand, while he wears techno shades. Kalki 2898 AD embarks on a journey spanning millennia, from the epic events of the Mahabharata in 3101 BCE to the distant year of 2898 AD. The film is slated for a global release on May 9th in summer, 2024,” the user added.
