Who is presumed to be dead from the explosion?
Haseen Dillruba begins with Rani, a housewife who finds herself outside her home, tending to stray dogs. She suddenly hears an explosion at her house that shatters the tranquility. The blast leaves behind a charred body and a severed hand, presumed to be her husband, Rishabh “Rishu.”
In a series of flashbacks, the story unfolds. While Rishu falls deeply for Rani from the start, she reluctantly enters the union, still nursing wounds from a previous relationship. Tensions simmer between Rani, Rishu, and his family. These problems are further deepened by Rishu’s inability to consummate the marriage. The strain deepens when Rishu overhears Rani confiding in her mother and aunt about their intimate struggles.
Amidst this turmoil, Rani finds solace in the company of Neel Tripathi, Rishu’s charismatic cousin. A budding attraction soon blooms into a secret affair.
Why did Neel leave Rani?
However, when Rani confesses her desire to marry Neel, his fear of commitment drives him to flee, leaving her heartbroken. In a moment of anguish, Rani reveals the truth to Rishu. Despite his disdain for her actions, Rishu still stands by Rani.
In the present day, the police, aware of the complex history between Rani, Rishu, and Neel, are determined to uncover the truth behind Rishu’s death. They suspect Rani is behind the explosion and the apparent demise of her husband. They utilize advanced investigative techniques, including polygraph tests, and scrutinize her every move.
As Rani recounts the fateful day’s events to the police, she fabricates a story to protect Neel. She claims that Rishu had confronted him, leading to a tragic turn of events. Although the police remain unconvinced by her narrative, they lack concrete evidence to incriminate her.
Haseen Dillruba ending: Who was killed in the explosion?
In a shocking twist, it is revealed that Neel’s visit took a sinister turn when he attempted to blackmail Rani and Rishu with compromising sex tapes. Enraged by his betrayal, Rishu launches into a violent confrontation with Neel, resulting in a fierce struggle for survival. As Neel gains the upper hand and begins to strangle Rishu, Rani intervenes, wielding a mutton leg to defend her husband.
In a desperate bid to avoid imprisonment, the duo concocts a cunning plan to stage the scene so that it appears as if Neel is the aggressor. Rishu sacrifices his hand, severing it and placing it beside Neel’s lifeless body. Meanwhile, Rani cleverly manipulates the evidence, rigging the gas stove to trigger a devastating explosion.
As the flames engulf their home, Rishu manages to escape through the backdoor disguised as Neel, while Rani disposes of the murder weapon by feeding it to the unsuspecting dogs.
Five years later, as the case remains unsolved, a police inspector departs the town. He purchases a copy of the murder-thriller book mentioned in Rani’s statement and uncovers the chilling reality of the crime. However, with no evidence to pursue further action, he is forced to accept defeat.
Rani and Rishu are reunited, bearing the scars of their shared secret, with Rishu’s missing left hand.
