Article 370 box office collection: Yami Gautam’s movie crosses the 3 million mark
The film has made approximately $4.2 million domestically so far. It is also likely to close its first week with around $5 million. It had a worldwide opening weekend of nearly $5 million, as per the producers. With the collections of Monday and Tuesday factored in, the figure would have surpassed the $6 million mark. The film will aim to cross $7 million globally before Friday.
Article 370 has seen good trending at the box office, with many trade pundits predicting that it will eventually emerge as a hit.
The film has virtually no major competition now, as the only other film that’s clocking in decent numbers at the box office is Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The next big release will be on March 8 when Ajay Devgn’s horror drama Shaitaan opens in cinemas, followed by Sidharth Malhotra starrer actioner Yodha– by then, Article 370 would be on its last legs.
Article 370 is helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Jambhale. The film, also starring Priyamani, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and his brother Lokesh Dhar. It will be held to the standards of recent politically motivated Hindi movies such as The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story, not to mention Aditya Dhar and Yami’s own Uri: The Surgical Strike. Each of those films grossed over $40 million worldwide.
