Yami Gautam and Priyamani starrer Article 370 experienced a robust start, leaving movie enthusiasts eager to witness its trajectory on the weekdays. However, as the curtains drew on the fourth day, the film recorded a massive dip in its box-office collection.

Yami Gautam’s latest movie, Article 370, which started strong, faced a significant challenge as it entered the weekdays. The film experienced a substantial dip in its box-office collection on the fourth day.
Industry tracking website Sacnilk reported that Article 370 earned $392K on its first Monday. This figure reflects a substantial 66% drop from the numbers recorded on Sunday. However, despite the dip, the film’s total net box-office collection has reached an impressive $3.1 million in just four days.
Aditya Dhar Films, the production banner behind Article 370, shared a broader perspective on the film’s performance. According to the producers, the movie’s worldwide gross collection has touched $4.1 million. This underlines the global appeal and acceptance of the film despite the Monday slump.
Moreover, Monday saw Article 370 maintaining a 13.10 percent occupancy in theaters. Breaking down the numbers, in Mumbai, with 695 shows running, the occupancy stood at 14.25 percent. Meanwhile, Delhi and NCR, with 784 shows, reported an 11.75 percent occupancy. In Chennai, where the film has 33 shows, the occupancy reached 28.75 percent.
Article 370 is a political thriller, based on alleged real events during the time of abrogation of the same controversial article. The movie received mixed reviews, however, Yami Gautam focused on the positive and thanked the audience on social media.
She expressed, “Thank you so much for giving so much love to our small little film, with a big heart. We are humbled and will remain forever grateful to all of you.”
Article 370 is currently enjoying a free run without major competition.
