Anticipation is high among the fans as Ashok Selvan’s latest Tamil sports drama film is all set for its OTT release. Meanwhile, a popular OTT platform has announced that Blue Star is coming on the platform.
Blue Star, released on January 25, 2024, was created under the direction of debutant director S. Jayakumar, featuring Ashok Selvan and Shanthanu in the lead roles. Keerthi Pandian, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Lizzie Antony, and Prithvi Pandiarajan are also seen in pivotal roles.
With a budget of $844 thousand (₹7 Crore), it has been produced under the banners of Neelam Productions and Lemon Leaf Creation.
The storyline introduces us to two youth groups in Arakkonan, Chennai. Ranjith (Ashok Selvan) leads the colony cricket team named Blue Star, while Rajesh (Shanthanu) leads the village cricket team named Alpha Boys. The story took an interesting turn when both teams came together to prove themselves and participate in a bigger tournament.
With a running time of 2 hours and 46 minutes, Blue Star has received a rating of 7.7/10 on IMDb. Meanwhile, BookMyShow rated the film 8.7/10 with 12.4K votes.

Recently, the OTT platform, Tentkotta announced that Blue Star will be available for streaming on the platform on February 29, 2024. However, it is essential to note that this movie will be available for audiences beyond India for the time being.
For those unaware, as per the Tentkotta X (Twitter) account, it is the Premier Legal Streaming Platform for Non-Indian Audiences. Also, as per reports, Blue Star is expected to be set for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar by April 2024. However, the official confirmation is awaited. Thus, the Indian viewers will have to wait to experience its digital debut.
