So let’s dive into the story to explore what happened in Scammy Boys.
A small-town boy, Pankaj comes to Jammu for studies and is highly influenced by his college friend Piyush’s lifestyle. Piyush is a free and easy man who smokes weed and doesn’t overlook his future. Moreover, he also toils in a drug cartel. They both are teenagers and strive to make a lot of money.
However, Pankaj doesn’t become a doper like Piyush which gets him nearly in trouble. Both friendships give them the strength to flee from the police. Interestingly, Pankaj and Piyush don’t even realize that the drug peddlers are actually preparing them to work for terrorists.
How does Pankaj and Piyush meet Rajendra?
During college, Pankaj was a bit indifferent concerning his future as he chose to hang out with his closest friend Piyush. Soon, Pankaj made a girlfriend named Aarti, and he completely neglected his studies. His everyday routine involved scoring drugs, evading cops, and spending time with his girlfriend. The story took an intriguing turn when one day, Piyush met Loka, a drug dealer who introduced him to a new way to earn money. He was acquiring fake currency which couldn’t easily be detected by anyone. Besides this, Piyush had a dream of becoming an actor, and Loka had many connections in the Mumbai film industry, so Piyush assumed that Loka would help him.
However, Loka influences Piyush, asking him if he wants a million bucks in fake currency. So, he had to pay two hundred thousand in real currency in cash. Piyush shared this idea with Pankaj. In avarice, Pankaj came up with the idea of borrowing money from classmates on the commitment of repaying double the amount they give. Soon, both of them collected a sufficient amount to meet Loka.
Afterward, Loka sent Piyush and Pankaj to Carlos, who only gave half a million to them and took their money away. During this deal, Pankaj stabbed Carlos and Piyush sprinted out with the real cash. At that exact time, a policeman named Rajendra, who was functioning for Ghassaudin (a terrorist operating from Pakistan), saw both of them doing this. After noticing Carlo’s dead body, he calculated that the boys could be of use in the future. He soon realized that these boys would do anything for money.
Scammy Boys ending: Is Pankaj Dead?
As the story progresses, Pankaj and Piyush are sent to Kashmir where they are tasked with getting a truck across the checkpoints in Jammu. But when they couldn’t, they asked their contact to help. However, after facing failure in their mission to procure drugs from the border, they wanted out. Piyush asked Rajendra to at least let Pankaj go, but Rajendra refused to do so due to severe backlash.
On the other hand, Pankaj and Piyush weren’t aware that the trucks they were aiding to smuggle into Jammu contained explosives. Moreover, Ghassaudin was enraged, as his base in Jammu was intruded by Narcotics and he believed Pankaj and Piyush were the prime suspects. But later, Ghassaudin gave them a final chance and asked them to get a truck into Jammu.
In the end, the duo encounters a guy who appears to be the mastermind of the terrorist attack. He proposed that they both be free after the assignment. That implies he was going to kill them, as explosive-contained trucks were momentarily going to reach India. This does not properly reveal how Piyush got the notion, but as soon as he called Pankaj and told him to run. During this call time, Pankaj was with Amjad, so he tried to run away but failed. At that moment, Pankaj made his final decision, he pulled the pin of a grenade tucked near the pocket of Amjad, resulting in a blast. The truck did not reach anywhere; the terrorist attack failed.
The movie ends with Pankaj’s death, as Piyush hears Pankaj’s final goodbye and realizes that he has died. However, Pankaj’s death is a complete mystery as it is unclear whether his parents will ever come to know what happened to him. Even Pankaj couldn’t meet his girlfriend Aarti.
