The clock is ticking on Varun Tej’s upcoming aerial combat film, Operation Valentine. The movie is just a few days away and the anticipation around it is massive. Throughout the movie’s promotions, its team has been teasing plot details. While the movie is not the first aerial action flick in India, it is being largely compared to Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter. Here’s how director Shakti Pratap Singh Hada addressed these comparisons:
Ahead of Operation Valentine, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter became the first film in Indian cinema that featured aerial combat. Both the movies have focused on the Pulwama Attack of 2019 and its retaliation, the Balakot Airstrike. However, the makers of Operation Valentine have confirmed the movie focuses on the emotions of the Indian Air Force.
Operation Valentine director says Operation Valentine is different from Fighter
According to a report by 123telugu.com, Shakti Pratap Singh Hada revealed how Operation Valentine is different from Fighter. The director mentioned that he is certain his directorial will bring a fresh perspective to the viewers.
He said, “Ours is a movie about the Indian Air Force. I haven’t seen Fighter. I am sure we are bringing a unique perspective to the audience. Whatever we are showing in our film happens very commonly in the Air Force. But not many people know about it. Operation Valentine is not just about action. It explores the camaraderie and relationship among Air Force pilots.”
Operation Valentine stars Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar in the lead roles. While Tej is playing an IAF pilot, Chhillar is portraying the role of a radar controller. Navdeep, Ruhani Sharma, and Mir Sarwar are playing supporting roles. The movie would mark Tej’s debut in the Hindi Cinema and Manushi’s in the Telugu film industry.
The movie will hit the theaters on March 1, 2024.
