Shark Tank India season 3 has recently witnessed an innovative startup called Chefling, a unique do-it-yourself (DIY) kit. This product has all the ingredients needed to make a tasty recipe. In episode 21, Rounit Kashyap Gambhir, the founder of Chefling, sought an investment of $48K (₹40 lakh) for 10 percent equity.
Before presenting a pitch, Rounit first served sushi to the Sharks. Afterward, he revealed that his father used to run a textile manufacturing unit, but they went bankrupt during COVID time. Seizing the opportunity during the lockdown, he launched his product in Mumbai. He further disclosed that the company was started in August 2020, and they have sold more than 5,000 kits across India to date. These kits are also available for purchase on the official Chefling website.
Chefling kits are unique for those who love to eat but don’t have the time to cook. As per Rounit, he wants to simplify the process of cooking fancy dishes for enthusiasts with time constraints. Notably, he is the only founder of this startup business.
After several offers and counter-offers, Rounit secured the deal with four Sharks—Amit, Azhar, Namita, and Peyush—with $48K for 16 percent equity.

Chefling products offer three varieties—a Chef’s kit, a Starter’s Kit, and a Mini Kit. According to the website, Chef’s Kit offers hassle-free culinary solutions for restaurant-style home meals serving 3 to 4 people. Each kit includes all ingredients needed, from sauces to garnishes, removing the need to source multiple items.
Meanwhile, Starter’s Kit is crafted for two people. With a focus on simplicity, each package offers a thoughtfully selected array of premium ingredients for two servings. The third kit, i.e., the Mini Kit, is specially designed to serve 3-4 people. Tailored for those who already have most ingredients at home but lack the main essentials, each kit contains only the key components required to create the recipe.
After the order is placed, each kit usually takes 5-6 working days for a package to arrive. Customers will receive a tracking link as soon as the package has been picked up from the brand. Interestingly, Chefling also covers the kit under Chefling Purchase Protection. This scheme enables the customer to replace the kit in case a broken kit is received.
