Malayalam megastar Mammootty is, indeed, setting a high bar for all the younger actors with his commendable filmography. The actor is on a roll as he has been starring in back-to-back movies. After taking the bold step of playing the lead in Kaathal – The Core, Mammootty reprised his role as YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Yatra 2. He was recently seen playing a sinister role and sending chills down the viewers’ spines in Bramayugam. Now, the actor is set to get back to the action genre with his upcoming film Turbo. However, the latest reports suggest that fans might have to wait for longer to catch him on screen.
Turbo marks the reunion of Mammootty and filmmaker Vysakh after the success of Madhura Raja. It has been a while since the movie was announced and the megastar’s first-look was revealed. Though the movie was earlier touted to be released in May, recent reports claim that it has been postponed.
When will Mammootty’s Turbo release in theaters?
Mammootty was rigorously working on Turbo for quite some time. The actor wrapped up the movie on February 18 and shared a picture from the film’s sets. Following the film’s wrap, a report by OTTplay has claimed that Mammootty’s Turbo has been postponed. The report mentioned that the team of the movie is planning to release the film on June 13, 2024. However, the makers have not officially announced the movie’s release date yet.
Talking about Turbo’s teaser trailer, it was earlier expected to release in theaters with Bramayugam. However, allegedly, the makers are now planning on holding the teaser’s release. They are reportedly aiming to unveil it once a portion of the movie’s post-production work is completed. Therefore, it is expected to be out in the first week of March.
Touted to be a full-fledged action film, Turbo also features Sunil, Raj B Shetty, Antony Varghese, and others in supporting roles. Furthermore, Mammootty’s home production, Mammootty Kampany, is bankrolling the movie.
