Diana Penty, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan’s romantic comedy, Cocktail, is a fan-favorite Bollywood movie celebrating friendship. Directed by Homi Adajania and written by Imtiaz Ali, the movie was produced by Eros International, Illuminati Films and Maddock Films. It also stars Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani and Randeep Hooda.
The movie revolves around three friends who live together but face complications when love enters their lives. Cocktail was released theatrically worldwide on July 13, 2012.
The movie was a commercial success, with a total box office collection of $15.1 million worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2012. It was praised for the direction, soundtrack, humor, cinematography, costumes and performances.

Cocktail Ending: What did Gautam tell his mother?
Gautam’s mother, Kavita, and his uncle, Randhir, come looking for him in London. However, Kavita is shocked to see Gautam’s drunk adventures with the two girls. She asks him if he has found anyone to settle down with yet. Although Kavita does not particularly like Veronica due to her lifestyle, Randhir develops a soft spot for her. However, Gautam lies to Kavita and tells her that he is in a relationship with Meera, as she is the ‘ideal Indian girl’ in his mother’s eyes.
During this setup, Gautam and Meera grow closer and fall in love. But Meera is hesitant to confess the same, as she does not want to hurt her best friend, Veronica. On the other hand, Veronica has fallen in love with Gautam and is trying to win over Kavita by becoming a ‘decent’ Indian girl.
What happened between Meera, Veronica and Gautam?
Later, Gautam felt he could not continue with the lie, so he sat down with Meera and Veronica. He explained to Veronica that even though she was in love with him, he was in love with Meera. Meera apologized to Veronica, but Veronica assured her that it was okay and insisted that they should go out and celebrate. However, at the club, a drunk Veronica breaks down and tells Gautam that she will do whatever he wants, and she tells Meera that she used her to get to him.
The next morning, the trio parted ways. Meera decided to go back to Kunal. But Gautam was unable to concentrate on his work or move on, and Veronica slipped into depression and became destructive. However, when Veronica got badly injured after an accident, Gautam rushed her to the hospital. There, Meera arrived with Kunal to pretend that she was over Gautam.
Do Gautam, Veronica and Meera reunite?
Towards the end of Cocktail, Gautam moves back in with Veronica to look after her. While Veronica thinks they are rebuilding their relationship, she realizes that Gautam is no longer the man she fell for and that he is only himself around Meera. So, she sacrifices her love for Gautam and helps him find Meera.
They reach out to Kunal, who tells them that Meera left him and returned to India. In the end, Gautam and Veronica travel to India, and Veronica helps Gautam propose to Meera, which she accepts. Veronica and Meera become best friends again, and the three friends finally put aside their differences and reunite.
