Khatana, the owner of the college canteen, suggests to JJ that pain and heartbreak are essential to becoming a successful artist.
Taking this advice to heart, JJ further decides to woo Heer Kaul, a beautiful girl from St. Stephen’s College known for breaking hearts. JJ’s initial attempt to win Heer’s affection results in humiliation, but it also marks the beginning of a deep and complex friendship between them.
Heer eventually marries a man named Jai and moves to Prague, while JJ’s life takes a turbulent turn. After being accused of stealing family money, he is ostracized by his brothers and finds solace in singing at the Nizamuddin Dargah. However, his talent is noticed by Ustaad Jameel Khan, a classical musician, leading to his break in the music industry under the moniker “Jordan,” a nickname given by Heer.
Where did Jordan and Heer’s paths cross again?
While Jordan’s career begins to ascend, Heer suffers from health issues in Prague. Their paths cross again when Jordan tours Europe, and they rekindle their relationship. However, the complexities of their bond, marked by Heer’s marriage and Jordan’s rising fame, lead to emotional turmoil. Jordan’s attempts to profess his love are met with resistance by Heer, who is torn between her feelings and her marital commitment.
As Jordan’s fame grows, so does his inner turmoil. He becomes increasingly arrogant and isolated, alienating those around him. His life takes another dramatic turn when he learns of Heer’s serious illness, aplastic anaemia. He rushes to her side, and his presence seems to have a miraculous effect on her health. However, the respite is short-lived as Heer’s condition worsens, and she falls into a coma, pregnant with Jordan’s child.
Rockstar ending: Did Heer survive?
The climax of the film is both tragic and poetic. Jordan learns of Heer’s deteriorating health during a concert and immediately leaves to be by her side. In a heart-wrenching scene, he attempts to rouse her from the coma, but to no avail. Heer dies offscreen, leaving Jordan in a state of perpetual grief.
