Tamil sports drama film Blue Star hit big screens on January 25, 2024. While the movie is running in cinemas, fans eagerly await its digital release. According to the latest reports, the film is expected to be released on Disney Plus Hotstar by April 2024.
Created under the direction of S. Jayakumar, Blue Star was produced under the banner of Neelam Productions and Lemon Leaf Creations. The film features Ashok Selvan as Ranjith, along with Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Keerthi Pandian in the lead roles. Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Lizzie Antony, and Prithvi Pandiarajan are also seen in supporting roles.

The movie is set against a backdrop of the 1990s and is based in Arakkonam, following the feud between two groups of different castes against a cricket tournament. This rivalry impacts the opportunities for both group captains to play cricket. With a running time of 2 hours and 46 minutes, Blue Star has received a rating of 7.9/10 on IMDb. Meanwhile, BookMyShow rated the film 8.7/10 with 5.3K votes.
Blue Star OTT release date has been set for April 2024
As mentioned earlier, the reports indicate that Ashok Selvan’s film is predicted to be set for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar by April 2024. However, makers have not made any such announcement concerning the platform for its digital release.
With the movie presently running in theaters, the general rule allows the films to be released on OTT after a gap of four to six weeks. Thus, the audience has to wait for the digital release until the film’s makers share the official announcement.
In other news, the drama sports movie was made with a budget of $841K approx. As of this writing, the film has garnered a collection of $465K till its day 4 in India’s net collection.
