Before the release, Pankaj Tripathi recently shared his experience of playing the legendary Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the big screen. He emphasized that the former Prime Minister’s personality goes beyond today’s politicians. Describing him as a poet and a leader, Tripathi notes, “He was a leader whose staunchest enemies were also his admirers.”
Furthermore, the actor shared the valuable lessons he learned while playing Vajpayee’s character. “I’ve learned that a person should be democratic from the inside; that even when I’m upset with you, I know deep down that I’m angry with you and you don’t like me, but I still enjoy this. He motivates you to believe that everyone can do anything in life,” he shared (originally in Hindi).
Tripathi also shared his real-life encounter with the political leader, recounting attendance at two of Vajpayee’s political rallies. “I was wondering if I could do justice to this. But I have attended two of Atal ji’s political rallies. I went to listen to him, standing in the crowd five hundred meters away,” he revealed.
