Additionally, in a recent interview, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga hinted at an extended OTT version. Vanga shared his plans to include scenes that were originally edited out for the theatrical release. He expressed regret over cutting 8-9 minutes from the film’s duration and mentioned, “Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra.”

Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor, presents a gripping tale of a son’s fanatical devotion to his absentee father.

Despite facing criticism for its portrayal of violence and misogyny, Animal emerged as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of 2023. One of the recent critics, Javed Akhtar, expressed concerns about the impact of Animal on the audience. The renowned lyricist and screenwriter emphasized the crucial role of audiences in shaping the fate of cinema.

He stated, “if there’s a film in which a man asks a woman to lick his shoe or if a man says it’s okay to slap a woman, and if the film is a super duper hit, then that’s very dangerous.”

All in all, as the OTT release approaches, fans eagerly await the extended cut of Animal. Anticipating not only the controversial scenes but also the ones that are yet to unveil.
