Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has recently unveiled the release date of his upcoming movie Raid 2. The much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 crime drama Raid promises to bring back Devgn in his iconic role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik.
The excitement reached a fever pitch as the makers of Raid 2 dropped the first look poster. It featured the unmistakable legs and boots of the main character, played by Ajay Devgn. The poster boldly declares, “Amay Patnaik is back,” promising another gripping movie on government operations and high-stakes investigations.

Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 will release on November 15, 2024
The much-anticipated sequel started its filming on January 6, 2024. Tollywood actor Ravi Teja and director Harish Shankar flew from Hyderabad to attend the opening ceremony (muhurat) of the shooting. Ravi Teja gave the mahurat clap with Ajay Devgn for Raid 2.
As mentioned in the caption of the official announcement, “New Case, New Beginning! #Raid2 officially kicked off today, and the energy on set was nothing short of electrifying! Shukriya @RaviTeja_offl for gracing the mahurat shot. In Cinemas on 15th November 2024.”
Additionally, Harish and Ravi are currently working on the official Telugu adaptation of Raid. It is titled as Mr Bachchan.
According to the makers, Raid 2 will pay tribute to “unsung heroes of the Income Tax Department.” Moreover, the movie’s plot is reportedly going to be about a true case from their books. The film is set to shoot in various Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, and key locations in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
For those unaware, the original Raid was also inspired by a true story (the longest raid in the history of India), showcasing the fearless efforts of IRS officer Amay Patnaik. He conducted an unprecedented income-tax raid on a corrupt politician. Now fans can see what more awaits in the sequel.
