Aamir Khan‘s daughter, Ira Khan, is all set to marry Nupur Shikhare, months after their engagement. The pre-wedding celebrations have already begun at the Khan residence.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan’s sister, Nikhat Khan Hegde, revealed details about the celebrity wedding. She shared that the actor was learning to sing at his daughter’s wedding.

Aamir Khan’s residence has been decorated and the traditional Marathi ceremony, Kelvan, has already been done. Nikhat Khan Hegde revealed that the mehendi function was held at Nupur Shikhare’s house. She said, “Today, we took Mehendi to Nupur’s house. We did the mehendi ceremony and decided to wear a navari with a big nath. We dressed up fully Maharashtrian.”
She also added that Ira Khan’s father, Aamir Khan, was learning to sing at his daughter’s wedding. The family of the bride has been practicing and preparing songs on dhol, which they plan to sing on the wedding day.
She said, “It will be a more casual sangeet; we will be playing dhol and singing all wedding songs. Aamir is learning to sing as well. However, for the wedding songs, it is only the ladies who will be performing. Our family from Banaras, Lucknow and Delhi have come. Reena’s side family has come down from Delhi and Punjab.”
She also informed that the wedding isn’t a traditional Maharashtrian-style wedding. Instead, the couple will tie the knot in a registered marriage on January 3, 2024, after which they will head to Udaipur. She stated, “Udaipur’s plan is all for Ira and Nupur’s friends, and we will be going along. There we will have sangeet and mehendi, but not the Maharashtrian style wedding; it is only a registered marriage.”
Nupur Shikhare, the groom-to-be, recently posted an adorable message for his soon-to-be wife, Ira Khan. The post had a carousel of pictures of the two dressed in traditional attire.
