Falimy opens with the grandfather’s attempt to escape his house for a trip to Varanasi. In the movie, Anoop works as a voice artist who used to voice characters in a popular TV serial. His brother is a student in the school and seems to be away from all the tensions of the family.
The story then sees the family members trying to get Anoop married, which ends in failure after the girl’s lover disrupts the ring ceremony. After this, Anoop decides to fulfill his grandfather’s dream and travel to Varanasi. Meanwhile, the father and the son seem to show some rifts between them.
However, the entire family decides to have a trip together, resulting in Anoop’s father being left at a station. Except for the grandfather, the other family members jump from the train, leading to chaos all over the place. Furthermore, they change the transport methods and have a trip with an illegal supplier throughout the journey.
However, during the journey, the grandfather comes to know that his neighbour’s old friend passed away. This motivates him to go back to his house to attend the cremation of his friend.
In the meantime, his family members initiate a search campaign in Varanasi because they are unaware of Anoop’s grandfather going back home. During this search, Anoop also meets a fan of his dubbed voice who joins the search campaign. Making every attempt possible, Anoop’s family ends up thinking that their grandfather may have also passed away.
After an emotional scene, the family learns that Anoop’s grandfather has reached back home. Following this, everyone decides to go back to their house. The rifts between the father and the son also come to an end after they realize the problems they suffered.
