Shah Rukh Khan’s latest venture, Dunki, has been making waves at the box office. It is delivering an impressive performance in its 12-day run. The film, directed by the acclaimed Rajkumar Hirani, opened to a robust start, collecting $3 million on its first day. However, it faced a slight dip on the second day, garnering $2.4 million. The movie’s fortunes took a turn for the better on the first Saturday, witnessing a jump with a collection of $3 million. This upward trajectory continued into the first Sunday, where Dunki amassed $3.6 million.
The film sustained its momentum through the initial weekdays, collecting $2.9 million on Monday. Tuesday witnessed a sharp fall with a 52.47% dip, bringing in $1.3 million. The mid-week figures on Wednesday and Thursday were $1.2 million and $900 thousand, respectively. By the end of the first week, Dunki had accumulated a commendable $19 million net in India.
Despite a dip of 14.74% on the second Friday, with collections amounting to $800 thousand, the film experienced a revival over the weekend. The second Saturday and Sunday witnessed a significant upswing, with collections of $1 million and $1.3 million, reflecting increases of 28.57% and 27.78%, respectively.
Dunki: SRK movie steady during New Year’s weekend
As Dunki entered its second Monday, early estimates hinted at a collection of around $1.1 million. The total domestic box office collection for the film over the last 12 days now stands at an impressive $24 million. The overseas collection has reached $17 million, contributing to a domestic gross of $27 million. This brings the total worldwide collection to $44 million.
In a statement released by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dunki has already crossed the $45 million mark worldwide. Overseas numbers for Day 12 are yet to be disclosed.
With the film eyeing the coveted $45 million milestone, Dunki continues to captivate audiences both domestically and internationally. The success of Shah Rukh Khan’s third release of 2023 marks a significant achievement for the entire cast and crew.
