The much-anticipated movie Salaar finally hit theaters on Friday, December 22, 2023. Reports claim that Prabhas’ film became the highest-opening film of 2023. The film has been released in multiple languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, catering to a wider audience.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Nell, has received a massive positive response from the audience. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for Salaar Part 2. However, the makers of the movie have already revealed the name of the film.
Despite this, the early shows of Salaar at 1:00 am and 4:00 am mark the earliest shows in the history of Indian Cinema. A huge crowd gathered outside the Sandhya theaters in Telangana for the grand release of this movie, showcasing the enormous fanbase of Prabhas.
Furthermore, Salaar Part 1 narrates the journey of two best friends in Khansar. Later, they become enemies of each other.
Salaar box office collection Day 1 expected to cross $11 million
Before the release of Salaar, there was tough competition among the fans of Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan. This was because Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki was released a day before Salaar’s release.
Meanwhile, Dunki witnessed a great start at the box office with earnings of $3.60 million on its first day. This movie is SRK’s third film of the year. However, this collection is less than that of his previous two movies this year, Jawan and Pathaan.
On the other hand, Salaar has already recorded its first-day advance booking of $5.8 million, as per reports. In terms of the highest advance booking (gross) opening day of this year, Salaar stands in the top spot. According to Sacnilk Entertainment, Leo, starring Vijay Thalapathy, is at the second spot, followed by Jawan in third, and Animal at the fourth spot. Pathaan is at the 5th position in the year 2023.
As per reports, Salaar is on the way to achieving a gross opening of over $11 million at the box office. Prabhas has earlier created a record with three movies – Baahubali 2, Saaho & Adipurush grossing $12 million on its 1st day.
Hence, as Salaar continues its journey in theaters, it will be interesting to see how much it will collect at the box office.
