The Indian cinema is about to witness one of its biggest box-office battles between Salaar and Dunki. Both movies are releasing one day apart and are touted to be the most-anticipated films of the year. However, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is taking it as a friendly battle and has shared his interest in watching Dunki.
Sukumaran, who is co-starring Prabhas in Salaar, recently revealed that he will watch Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. For the unversed, the advance bookings of the two movies have already begun in India and the overseas market. This means that the box office battle is on, and both movies are showing great numbers.
Prithviraj Sukumaran calls himself a fan of SRK
In an interview with News18, Prithviraj Sukumaran confirmed that he is an avid fan of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The actor revealed that he is also fond of Rajkumar Hirani’s work. He said, “I’m really looking forward to watching Dunki. I’m a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan. I’m also a big fan of Rajkumar Hirani.”
Sukumaran further added that he will also watch Mohanlal’s upcoming film Neru. He said, “As a film lover, I think it’s the greatest holiday season ever, at least in Kerala, because we’ve Salaar, Dunki, and Neru. Neru is a Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph film and they’re collaborating after Drishyam 2. We get to have three really big films at the box office and I’m watching all three for sure.”
Prashanth Neel, who is known for directing the KGF film series, has helmed Salaar. The director has hinted that the film will take the viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride with an ample amount of action. Apart from Prabhas and Sukumaran, the film also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and more. The film will hit the theaters on December 22, while Dunki will arrive on December 21.
