The war-based movies in the Indian cinema have been upgraded to the air. Recent trends show that movies based on the stories of the Indian Air Force are setting a new high in the cinematic universe. Telugu star Varun Tej is also gearing up for a similar film, Operation Valentine. This movie will star Manushi Chhillar as the leading lady, and she has taken up the role of a radar controller.
While the movie’s teaser has created a buzz among the audience, one question is taking off in everyone’s mind – Is Operation Valentine based on a true story?
This movie was tentatively titled VT 13 earlier because it marks Varun Tej’s 13th project. The film’s teaser ensures a gripping story filled with mid-air action. Tej is playing the role of an IAF officer, Arjun Dev, whose call sign is Rudra. The teaser reveals how India decides to launch an air strike after multiple terrorist attacks. Tej’s Rudra leads the team, and the mission is not an easy one. In one of the scenes, he could be heard saying, “Our nation not only belongs to Mahatma Gandhi but also to Subhash Chandra Bose.”
Is Varun Tej’s upcoming movie Operation Valentine based on a real story?
Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine is reportedly based on a true story. As per India Today, the movie is based on true events and the biggest airstrikes in the history of India. However, it has not been confirmed which airstrike the makers are referring to. It is believed that it follows the story of the Balakot Airstrike, which took place on February 26, 2019.
Shakti Pratap Singh Hada helmed the movie, which is set to hit the theaters on February 16, 2024. The film is made simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages. Varun Tej will make his Hindi film debut, while Manushi Chhillar will make her Telugu film debut with Operation Valentine.
