Prabhas’ upcoming film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is among the most-awaited movies of the year. The audience is eager to know how the movie will work as Prabhas‘s films, post Baahubali 2, have failed to impress the audience. Prashanth Neel, who is known for helming the KGF film franchise, has directed Salaar. For years, the director worked on the film’s script and production, and the result of his hard work will release on December 22.
The most recent update about Salaar is that it has received an A certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Due to the heavy violence in the movie, it is declared not appropriate for people below 18 years of age. However, this did not disappoint the film’s producer as he recently compared the success of Animal to Salaar’s expected one.
During a recent interaction with India Today, Salaar producer Vijay Kiragandur opened up on the film receiving an A certificate. The producer mentioned that the team is satisfied with the board’s decision. He said, “We obviously wanted an ‘U/A’ because we want the family audience to come and watch the film. At the same time, we are now okay with an ‘A’ certificate. The rules have changed for the censor board and when they explained the reason behind it, we came to terms with it.”
The producer then compared the situation that the current blockbuster Animal also faced. He said, “It happened with Animal as well. We met the censor officers, and they explained to us the new rules.” Further in the chat, the producer reiterated that Ranbir Kapoor’s movie is also doing well with the same certification given by CBFC. He added, “Salaar is not the first movie to release with an ‘A’.”
Prashanth Neel refused to cut Salaar scenes
In the same interview, the producer also revealed that director Prashanth Neel refused to cut scenes suggested by CBFC. He said, “They suggested a few cuts to get ‘U/A’, but director Prashanth decided against the cuts because those were the scenes which would add to the character building of a violent man. Those scenes are important.”
Salaar will compete with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki at the box office.
