Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is all set to entertain his fans with Dunki. The movie will mark his third film of the year, after Pathaan and Jawan. While his previous two films did extraordinarily well at the box office, this one is also expected to do the same. However, Dunki will witness a box office battle with Prabhas’ much-awaited action thriller Salaar.
The advance bookings for both movies have begun in the overseas market and they have also earned a whopping amount. However, it seems that the Prabhas-starrer is outshining Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s collaborative film.
According to a report by trade analyst Girish Johar, Salaar has minted better numbers than Dunki in the US, UK, and Australia/New Zealand. The Prashanth Neel directorial has earned $750K in the US, while Dunki has only garnered $185K. In the UK, the action thriller has reached $152K, while the action comedy has earned $88.6K. Prabhas’ film is also leading in the Australia/New Zealand region, as it has bagged $87.3. However, SRK’s upcoming movie is not much behind, as it has so far garnered $80.6K.
Dunki is ahead of Salaar in a few regions, including the Gulf and Europe. The movie has earned $90K and $65K in the two regions, respectively. On the other hand, Salaar has only minted $80K and $45K, respectively. While Dunki is growing at a slower pace, it is expected to earn more in the coming days. The movie is set for its premiere on December 21, while Salaar will hit theatres on December 22.
Dunki vs Salaar advance ticket booking date in India
Salaar advance ticket booking will begin on December 15, just a week before its premiere. Dunki advance booking will also begin on the same date. The two films have an ensemble cast.
Apart from Prabhas, Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan. On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani are playing key roles in the SRK-starrer.
