In a major cinematic breakthrough, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are gearing up to bring the epic tale of Ramayana to life on the silver screen. According to insider reports, the much-anticipated film will start filming in February or March 2024. Nitesh Tiwari, a National Award-Winning filmmaker, has meticulously crafted the entire universe of Ramayana. After all, he is gearing up to set new standards with cutting-edge technology in filmmaking.

The much-anticipated big-scale film Ramayana is gearing up to start its production in February or March 2024. And with that, a lot of buzz is going around the casting, VFX, release date, and more.
Sources close to the development have revealed that director Nitesh Tiwari has intricately shaped the entire world of Ramayana. Additionally, he has entrusted the design and production responsibility to the Oscar-winning VFX company, DNEG.
The source stated, “The makers intend to introduce a new technology of filmmaking with Ramayana. The entire test run of the shoot has been conducted multiple times. Right from 3D scans to look tests – all the aspects of pre-production have been concluded with the three leads – Ranbir, Sai, and Yash.”
Yash is also joining the cast in July after wrapping up his commitments for the Geetu Mohandas directorial Toxic. His role in Ramayana: Part One is expected to be pivotal. All in all, it focuses on character building with the introduction of Hanuman.
The source also added, “The second part will chronicle the arc of Raavan’s character and the actor is excited to enter into this auspicious world of Nitesh Tiwari. Yash was bowled over by the visuals and the purity with which Nitesh intends to retell Ramayana to the audience today.”
Furthermore, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the project. He will be visiting the VFX office of DNEG in LA early next year for pre-viz tech rehearsals.
The eagerly awaited first part of the Ramayana trilogy might release in the second half of 2025. All in all, it promises to be the biggest Indian release of the year.
