Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Shot at Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace

Ranbir Kapoor‘s rich man’s bratty, violent son aura is impossible to ignore in his latest release, Animal. However, what’s more noteworthy is the mansion featured in the film.

Directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal hits theatres on December 1, 2023. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios have produced the film.

Apart from the relentless violence, brilliant acting performances, and thrilling music, the film’s production design is also something to appreciate. The mansion where Ranbir’s character Vijay and his family live is Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace.

Animal movie filming location: How much is Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace worth?

After appearing in the Prime Video series Tandav, Eat Pray Love and Rang De Basanti, Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace was recently seen in the blockbuster Animal. Clips from the film and existing videos of Pataudi Palace online show the same galleries, lobbies, and gateways as the film. During the film’s shoot last year, a crew member had also tagged the palace as the shoot location on their Instagram Stories.

As per reports, the Pataudi Palace is valued at USD 666 billion. It was built in 1935 by the last ruling Nawab of Pataudi, Iftikhar Ali Khan aka Saif’s grandfather. It served as the residence of the Pataudi family but after the death of Mansoor Ali Khan, the property was leased to a hotel chain.

In an interview, Saif Ali Khan expressed his wish to buy the property back from the chain. He said, “So, even the house I’m supposed to have inherited has been earned back through money from films. You can’t live off the past. At least we can’t in our family, because there was nothing. There is history, culture, beautiful photographs; and, of course, some land. It has been a privileged upbringing. But there’s been no inheritance.”

However, in a different interview later, he clarified that he didn’t buy back the property. He said, “It wasn’t really re-buying, it was like clearing a lease.”
