In the romantic thriller Operation Romeo, directed by Shashant Shah, the lives of Aditya Sharma and Neha Kasliwal take an unexpected turn. Starring Sidhant Gupta and Vedika Pinto, the film explores the consequences of a confrontation with a policeman named Mangesh Jadhav. As the movie ends on a cliffhanger, questions arise about what happened in the car and the fate of the pair’s relationship.

What happened on the long drive in Operation Romeo?
The story kicks off with Aditya and Neha going on a long night drive to celebrate Neha’s birthday. During the long drive, the former asks the latter for a kiss. She averts the proposal by pointing out they are in the middle of a road, hinting that people can spot them.
Aditya was keen on sharing an intimate moment so he took her to a hospital’s parking spot, which was expected to give them more privacy. As soon as they are about to indulge, their car window is pounded. A man named Mangesh Jhadhav had recorded the duo on his phone and threatened to expose their actions.
Mangesh is not alone, he was accompanied by another man named Patil. The pair posed as policemen and demanded $419 as a bribe to not arrest them. Aditya was aware of how conservative Neha’s parents are so he agreed to pay the sum. Because he didn’t want the video to be sent to her parents. Aditya asked if they could drive to a nearby ATM as he wasn’t carrying that kind of cash.
Afterward, upon reaching the spot, Patil tags along with Aditya inside the ATM. However, Mangesh decides to stay with Neha. Observing that, the former asked the latter if he would also like to tag along, but he refused. As soon as Aditya withdraws the cash, Mangesh locks himself in the car with Neha. The Operation Romeo plot thickens because of this very act.
Mangesh soon enough gets out of the car, takes the money, and leaves. The boyfriend perplexed with what just happened keeps on pestering Neha about what happened inside the car. She refuses to answer.
What happened inside the car?
Aditya safely drops Neha at her hostel and again inquires about what really happened. She remains silent which edges the boyfriend more to get to the depths of the truth. In some way or other, Aditya spots Mangesh again and starts following him. During the pursuit, he discovered the latter lied about being a police officer. In reality, he was an ambulance driver. Further infuriated by this revelation he hatches a plan in order to know what really happened.
The boyfriend takes drastic measures, including confronting Mangesh at his home and involving his family in pursuit of answers. Through a tense confrontation, Aditya coerces Mangesh into revealing that he attempted to molest Neha by trying to kiss her. However, by the end, he comes to the realization that Neha successfully defended herself.
With the truth finally unveiled, Aditya seeks out Neha letting her know that he finally knows the truth and wants to marry her, what he originally planned to do on her birthday. However, Neha rejects the proposal and points out that his actions so far show his love is conditional.
Posing a pivotal question that if hypothetically Mangesh had succeeded in harming her then would he still ask her to marry him? His hesitance in answering ultimately revealed his pursuit of truth was not in good faith but rather a personal agenda.
