Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, is all set to hit the screens soon. Prior to its release, Bhushan Kumar dropped a hint about the possibility of a sequel during a recent promotional event in Hyderabad.
The star-studded cast of Animal also includes Tripti Dimri, Saloni Batra, and Suresh Oberoi. Animal is scheduled for release on December 1st, 2023. The film marks the first collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The director is known for his previous hits, such as Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh.
Is Animal 2 already in the making?
Recently, a curious reporter quizzed Bhushan Kumar about the prospects of an Animal 2. Kumar responded, “It’s surprise and I think again we will come to know on the 1st of December.” This cryptic response has sparked speculations among fans and industry insiders that a sequel could be on the horizon. The talks are also that the sequel will be considered if the film performs well at the box office.
At a press event in Hyderabad, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed perceptions of Ranbir Kapoor’s on-screen persona, challenging the conventional chocolate boy image associated with the actor. Reddy cited Kapoor’s roles in films, like Rockstar and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, asserting that Kapoor, despite his soft image, is “fully alpha.” This statement aligns with Reddy’s reputation for crafting characters imbued with hyper-masculinity, evident in his earlier blockbuster films.
The filmmakers also responded to concerns about the film’s extended runtime. Kapoor clarified that the decision was driven by the story’s requirements rather than any sense of arrogance. The aim, he emphasized, is to ensure the story unfolds naturally and resonates effectively with the audience.
As the countdown to the release of Animal continues, the potential announcement of a sequel on December 1st has added an extra layer of anticipation, leaving fans eager to see if the film will indeed pave the way for a new chapter in Bollywood cinema.
