Tiger 3: Salman Khan happy with the box office collection so far
Tiger 3’s box office performance so far has been a mix of both highs and lows. The film has finally crossed the $29.9 million mark on day 12, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Salman Khan’s movie collection of $0.56 million on the twelfth day added another feather to its cap.
While Tiger 3 stands as Salman Khan’s best box office performance since 2017’s Tiger Zinda Hai, it still trails the latter by $9.5 million in the domestic market. Moreover, in comparison to the Hrithik Roshan starrer War, Tiger 3 lags.
The film’s journey within YRF’s Spy Universe showcases its dominance over the original Ek Tha Tiger, which was released over a decade ago. However, it still faces tough competition from its peers within the universe.
The high expectations was set by its reported $37.9 million and star-studded cast, including Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. However, the movie is yet to surpass the heights reached by other YRF Spy Universe movies.
The film had a blockbuster opening despite its unconventional release on a Sunday. Tiger 3 sustained the momentum until Bhai Dooj, but soon after, collections experienced a noticeable nosedive. In an exclusive statement to ANI, Salman Khan acknowledged the challenges faced by the film during its release.
He expressed, “It was Diwali time and the World Cup was going on and everyone’s interest was in that but despite that the numbers that we have received are wonderful…we’re very grateful and happy about it.”
