Naga Chaitanya is all set to grace the small screens with his upcoming supernatural suspense thriller, Dhootha. On the occasion of his birthday, the makers of the web series released its trailer today.
Vikram K Kumar directs Dhootha, a supernatural horror series that revolves around possessed objects creating havoc on the lives of people guilty of deadly sins. The trailer sees Naga Chaitanya Akkineni as Sagar, an investigative journalist who finds himself in the middle of a web of dark secrets and mysteries.

Dhootha release date, cast and more
Dhootha is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on December 1, 2023. The web series stars Naga Chaitanya, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai and Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam. It will be an eight-episode series.
Nagarjuna Akkineni took it to X (formally Twitter) to wish his son on the occasion of his birthday. He captioned the post with, “Dear chay_akkineni wishing you many happy returns of the day!! I love the way you explore new genres and keep inventing yourself !! wishing you all the success on your Ott debut!! #DhoothaOnPrime @PrimeVideoIN Releasing on Dec 1.”
The trailer for Dhootha starts with Sagar’s character, determined to uncover the truth behind a series of disturbing premonitions in newspaper clippings. These clippings predict tragic accidents around those in Sagar’s proximity, pushing him to race against time to prevent these tragedies. The clip concludes with the release date announcement.
Sharrat Marar produces the series. Director Vikram Kumar also revealed a bit about the series. He said, “This is a fast-paced suspense thriller with a blend of unpredictability and supernatural elements that will keep audiences at the edge of their seats. Unable to comprehend the reason and sequence of the gruesome accidents, Sagar’s past transgressions come back to haunt, not only him but also, everyone he knows and loves, as he is compelled to introspect and think about the consequences of his actions.”
