Goa, the picturesque coastal state of India, is currently basking in the cinematic glory of the 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The festival is happening from November 20 to 28, 2023. The eight-day extravaganza aims to transcend geographical boundaries by showcasing the best of global cinema while fostering creativity and cultural exchange.

IFFI Goa 2023 boasts over 300 screenings, featuring 12 world premieres, 7 international premieres, 26 Asia premieres, and 64 India premieres. The festival received a record-breaking 624 film submissions from 95 countries.

54th International Film Festival of India: Everything you need to know

The Indian Panorama Section is set to showcase 35 films spanning multiple languages, including English, Sanskrit, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada. Hindi, Gujarati, Dimasa, Bodo, and Bengali. The opening feature film is Semkhor, and the non-feature film is Ved – The Visionary.

The International Film Festival of India 2023 is also awarding the prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. It is being awarded to Hollywood maestros Martin Scorsese, Michael Douglas, and Hungarian filmmaker Istevan Szabo. Not only that, their films like Taxi Driver and Mephisto will also be screened.

Leading OTT platforms, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, ZEE5, Voot, and Sony Liv are actively participating in the film festival. From exclusive masterclasses to content launches, these platforms are seamlessly integrating the digital aspect.

In a bid to foster emerging talent, the festival has introduced 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow. This initiative aims to provide a platform for 75 young filmmakers, actors, singers, scriptwriters, and others to showcase their talents globally.
