Vikram‘s highly-anticipated film, Dhruva Natchathiram, is all set for its release this month and the promotions for it have begun. Directed by Gautham Menon, the film stands as one of the long-delayed projects in Tamil cinema. However, reservations for the film had not yet opened in Tamil Nadu, sparking questions about whether Chiyaan Vikram would postpone the release date once more.
Reports indicate that the film’s financial issues are still pending resolution. Additionally, the sale of Dhruva Natchathiram’s distribution rights in Tamil Nadu remains outstanding, causing confusion for the film. The cancellation of the initially planned press meet in Chennai on November 20 further contributed to this chaos. However, the makers have not updated with any change in the release date.

Dhruva Natchathiram release date, cast and more
The slated release for Dhruva Natchathiram is November 24, 2023. The film’s premise revolves around a covert operative leading a team of elite professionals known as The Basement. His sole intention is to clandestinely dismantle terrorist organizations without being constrained by law and order.
The film stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, alongside Ritu Varma, Simran, Raadhika, Vinayakan, Salim Baig, Vamsi Krishna, and Maya, among others. According to reports, Netflix is ‘on the verge’ of acquiring the film’s streaming rights, while Kalaignar TV is in negotiations for acquiring the satellite rights.
Harris Jayaraj manages the film’s music, while multiple cinematographers captured the visuals during its year-long shoot. Initially announced with Suriya in 2013, the director shelved Dhruva Natchathiram several months after the announcement due to creative differences with the actor.
However, later he teased a possible revival during mid-2015, and met several actors to cast, before finalising Vikram in the lead role. The film commenced production in 2017, shooting in seven countries before concluding in February 2023.
