How did Saif Ali Khan’s OTT series end?
The final episode, titled “Radcliffe,” begins at Shahid Khan’s house in Pakistan. Amid a conversation with his mother, viewers are transported back to 1947. Here, they witness a Sikh family’s attempt to cross the border at Lahore during the partition.
A heart-wrenching separation happens, leaving the elder daughter behind, who is later revealed to be Shahid Khan’s mother. Simultaneously, Sartaj’s mother sifts through old photographs showing the same family. The bombshell revelation is that Shahid Khan and Sartaj Singh are kin.
The ending of the series revolved around the impending apocalypse prophesied by the Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi). Guruji, the man behind the cult Gochi, believes that the destruction of the current world is necessary for the birth of a new, purified one. His grand plan involves the detonation of a nuclear bomb in Mumbai. He believes that the bombing will bring the desired apocalypse.
At the center of the chaos is Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan). He is a honest police officer who is trying to thwart Guruji’s catastrophic plan. As the clock ticks down to the predicted doomsday, Sartaj goes on a thrilling journey to unravel the conspiracy and prevent the end of the city.
On the other hand, Shahid Khan (Ranvir Shorey), the mastermind behind the apocalyptic plan, meets his demise after activating the bomb with a pattern-protected password. Now, the responsibility to save the city falls on Sartaj and his team, who have 11 minutes to prevent the catastrophe.
Sacred Games season 2: Did the bomb go off in the end?
The tension escalates as Sartaj’s team faces one obstacle after another. Two crucial attempts are squandered by a senior bomb-diffusing expert, leaving them with only five chances. As time slips away, desperation sets in. Sartaj then makes an important connection between the bomb’s pattern and the Kalgranth, a sacred scripture he stole from Batya Abelman earlier in the season.
The tension becomes palpable as Sartaj is left with three attempts to deactivate the bomb. Two failed attempts later, he faces a critical choice in the final seconds, i.e., to save the city or choose a more personal path. The password is entered with four seconds remaining, and a loading screen ensues before the credits roll. This moment leaves everyone on the edge of an cliffhanger.
As it is, the bomb password pattern having relation to his father, Sartaj’s life being interconnected with Guruji, and the inclusion of Ganesh Gaitonde made the series one to think about every second of our lives. However, the ending has left fans hoping for yet another season of this thriller.
