At the heart of the narrative are Manu and Priya, a couple deeply in love but financially strained. Manu, a driver in a wealthy household, dreams of providing Priya with a house by the sea. Priya, a college student and aspiring singer, shares this dream as well. The storyline takes a dark turn when Manu becomes entangled in a hit-and-run case involving the son of the family he works for, setting the stage for a series of gripping events.
The life-changing moment happens when a cunning man connected to the wealthy family offers Manu a deal. He proposes to take the blame for the hit-and-run, and in return, he’ll get the means to fulfill Priya’s dream. Manu, driven by his unwavering love for Priya, agrees. As it is, this sets off a chain of events that led to his imprisonment. This decision becomes the catalyst for the profound exploration of sacrifice and the consequences of one’s choices.
As soon as Manu enters prison, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello showcases the harsh realities of his imprisonment. He becomes involved with a gang of thugs, who he believes will help him stay safe. Meanwhile, Priya, left alone, transforms herself in order to deal with the love of her life being in prison.
Manu was promised he would only need to spend 10 months in prison. He even set up a meeting with the family’s head, Gowda, due to the gang leader Soma coercing him to get more money from him. However, he died on the way, and the news sent shockwaves through the prison. Chaos ensued, after which Manu became a target of violence from fellow inmates.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A ending explained: What happened to Manu?
The cunning man who proposed the deal in the first place convinces the wife of Gowda that if Manu is released from prison, her son can be in trouble, especially since he is stepping into his father’s political shoes. As a result, she stops all the resources being provided as part of the deal and removes the lawyer fighting his case.
Meanwhile, Priya is determined to free Manu but faces numerous challenges. She loses their rented house and even empties Manu’s room to gather resources. In the process, her family notices she has lost who she used to be. They inform Manu how she has stopped singing and is totally invested in trying to get him out of prison. They ask him to let go of her so she can move on. He writes a letter to her, and after reading it, she understands he has given up on their relationship.
In reality, he still pines for her. Manu even made attempts to escape but failed. The emotional climax comes when Priya accepts a suitor for the sake of her family while Mnau faces a ten-year prison sentence. The courtroom scene encapsulates the film’s exploration of justice, truth, and the consequences of one’s actions.
Realizing he has nothing left to lose, Manu confronts Soma. The act of defiance leads to a brutal beating that ultimately results him in fighting for his life in the hospital. The film ends with a teaser for the sequel, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, promising a tale of revenge. The sequel is currently playing in nearby theatres and it already has garnered positive reaction from the audience.
