If there’s one show that’s doing justice to the crime-thriller genre in Indian cinema, it’s Sushmita Sen‘s Aarya.
Co-directed by Ram Madhvani, Kapil Sharma, and Shraddha Pasi Jairath, the series is based on the Dutch series Penoza. It is produced by Madhvani under the banner Ram Madhvani Films, along with Endemol Shine Group. The series stars Sushmita Sen in the titular and revolves around her life as she joins a mafia gang in order to get revenge for her husband’s murder.
The third installment is said to be released in two parts. Part 1 premiered on November 3, 2023, and follows Aarya’s plans for expanding the business. Check out the trailer for Sushmita Sen’s Aarya Season 3:
Aarya Season 3: How does part 1 of the show end?
Season 3 of Aarya began with her getting shot by an unknown assailant while she was surrounded by her children. The scene then moves back to her dealing with local opium farmers and wanting to buy their produce for 10 times more money than the market price.
However, when one of the farmers refused to agree with her prices, she threatened and forced him to sign the deal. Initially, Aarya’s business was about transporting Russian narcotics, but now she wanted to explore the supplier side of the market for more profit. Later, Aarya is assigned a consignment worth Rs. 1000 crores (USD 121 million) by Anton for transport. If she is successful in completing the task, the Russians would consider her as the supplier which put her under a lot of pressure.
Was Sooraj successful in his task?
Sooraj had made a secret alliance with Anton to steal the consignment assigned to Aarya. He wanted to avenge his wife’s death as he had made his intentions clear at the end of season two. Aarya and her family will be killed by Anton’s Russian associates if the consignment is not transported safely.
While finding the container number that was to carry the consignment, Sooraj’s men kidnapped Roop, who was supposed to be receiving all the information regarding the transportation. However, when Sooraj learned about her pregnancy, he refused to physically harm her.
On the other hand, Aarya got to know about Veer’s relationship with Roop. She tried her best to save Roop, but her consignment meant more to her. She could not afford to lose the job because that would put their lives at risk. So, to rescue Roop from Sooraj, Veer discreetly involved his mother. She succeeded in switching the container carrying the consignment. But ACP Younus Khan seized the container, which made Sooraj happy.
Did Aarya kill Sooraj?
After learning that Aarya might use Roop to capture and kill Sooraj, he killed Roop. He then dumped her body outside Aarya’s home, and when she learned about it, she kept it a secret from Veer. Veer finds out about Roop’s death and decides to kill Sooraj. However, Aarya ended up killing Sooraj in self-defense. While the situation made her upset, she decided to move forward and save the consignment.
Part one of Aarya season three ended with Veer and Aarya giving Roop a proper cremation as he wanted closure. It is possible that he might never forgive his mother for not saving Roop. On the other hand, Aarya will either retrieve the consignment or run far away with her children. The makers have teased Part 2 of the season at the end of the part 1, which gives the audience a peek into Aarya’s next steps.
