Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, celebrated his 58th birthday in grand style, and the cinematic world was in for a special treat. On this occasion, Netflix unveiled an extended cut of his latest release Jawan. While the news of the OTT release had been buzzing for a while, the actor’s birthday became the perfect moment to surprise his fans with an unexpected extended cut.
In a promotional clip released by Netflix, Shah Rukh Khan is seen making a deadly appeal to the streaming giant. Sitting inside a server room with his gang, he humorously threatens to detonate the room if his film isn’t released within the next two minutes. He exclaims, “A gift for you on my birthday. Watch Jawan streaming on Netflix.”

Jawan extended cut duration, scenes & more explained
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has been a blockbuster in theaters. But, those who didn’t get to catch it on the silver screen or want to rewatch it and awaited its OTT release are in for a treat. Now Netflix is all set to release the extended version. Several reports have suggested that the extended version would be around 10-15 minutes longer. Hence, it promises to offer viewers a deeper insight into the director Atlee’s vision for the film.
The extended cut, despite its minimal duration increase, does introduce a few new scenes. These include a brief voiceover for Priyamani’s character, Lakshmi. A slight extension of the much-discussed hospital scene featuring Sanya Malhotra. In the Tamil version, Yogi Babu plays the role of the minister’s manager. It was originally played by Mukesh Chhabra in the Hindi version. In the extended cut, we get to see him in another scene.
Jawan, directed by Atlee, stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in leading roles. The film also features Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Priyamani, and Sunil Grover among others. Additionally, it features special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. This blockbuster was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
