Veteran actor Aamir Khan is all set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. He recently shared the news about producing and starring in the film at the Amrit Ratna 2023 event.
The film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is reportedly said to carry a similar theme as Taare Zameen Par (2007). In the YouTube video shared above, he said (originally in Hindi), “I’m starring in and producing this film Sitaare Zameen Par. We are going ten steps ahead with the theme of Taare Zameen Par. That film made you cry, this one will make you laugh.”
Is Sitaare Zameen Par similar to Taare Zameen Par?
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan shared more details about his upcoming acting venture. He stated, “But the theme is the same that’s why we kept this name very thoughtfully. We all have flaws, we all have weaknesses, but we all also have something special. So, we are taking forward this theme, but this time the character of the special child Ishaan in that film, my character helps that character in Taare Zameen Par, in Sitaare Zameen Par, those 9 boys, who have their own issues they help me. It’s the opposite.”
Produced and directed by Aamir Khan himself, Taare Zameen Par followed an eight-year-old boy named Ishaan. Khan portrayed the role of his art teacher who discovers that the child was suffering from dyslexia and helps him realize his true potential. The film also starred Darsheel Safary, Tanay Chheda, Vipin Sharma, and Tisca Chopra.

As per reports, Aamir Khan will be producing three upcoming films – Laapata Ladies (directed by Kiran Rao), an untitled film with his son Junaid Khan, and Lahore 1947 with Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol. He shared that he is “looking forward to them.”
The actor has been on a break since his last film, Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). The 2022 movie was directed by Advait Chandan and was an official remake of the popular Hollywood classic Forrest Gump. The film starred Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh, alongside Aamir Khan. Although the film performed well at the box office, the actor soon revealed that he would be taking a break from acting to focus on his family.
The filming for Sitaare Zameen Par will reportedly begin in January 2024.
