Acclaimed possession flick The Devil’s Dolls getting theatrical and VOD
If it’s a homicidally-inclined doll horror flick ye be seeking, look no further that director Padraig Reynolds (The Rites of Spring) intense shocker The Devil’s Dolls, a gruesome and frightening potboiler due out from IFC Midnight on September 16th and one that has absolutely nothing to do with the classic Tod Browning horror masterpiece The Devil-Dolls.
In it, the ancient Guatemalan tradition of parents encouraging their kids to spill their troubles to handmade “worry dolls” (the film’s original title was in fact Worry Dolls) is exploited to tell the tale of a serial killer who refuses to go gently into that good night.
When one of the “worry dolls” ends up in the hands of the residents of a small Southern town, it sets off a grisly wave of bloodshed with possession being the name of the gory game.
Christopher Wiehl, Kym Jackson and Tina Lifford star in this bloody Southern Gothic fright fable.
The Devil’s Dolls opens September 16th in select theaters, VOD and and via digital platforms from IFC Midnight.
