SHOCK wants to send you to CARNAGE PARK on Wednesday night!
So, first of all, director Mickey Keating is a visionary and one of this writer’s favorite contemporary filmmakers.
I boldly called his black and white female freak-out DARLING (read the review here) the best horror film of 2016. That was back in February. And I’m still holding to that.
His immediate follow-up to DARLING is CARNAGE PARK, a wild, untamed crime thriller starring the lovely Ashley Bell and the great Pat Healy.
Now, CARNAGE PARK opens July 1st (at the IFC Center) with an LA release TBD.
But, if you’re in the NYC area and want to see it EARLY, SHOCK has a pair of tix to hit the sneak preview of this edgy, violent gem TOMORROW NIGHT (Wednesday, April 29th) at the IFC Center.
The show starts at 8pm and – best of all – Keating and Bell will be there, engaging in a Q&A with former FANGORIA editor and veteran journo and horror culture advocate Michael Gingold.
Here’s the synopsis:
This pure-pulp thrill ride jumps between past and present as it pieces together the puzzle of a shocking crime. Its 1978 and a bank robbery gone wrong leaves Vivian (The Last Exorcisms Ashley Bell) the hostage of two criminals on the run. But things go from bad to off-the-rails berserk when she and her captors wind up on the sun-baked desert outpost of a deranged ex-military sniper (Pat Healy), who ensnares them in his deadly game of cat and mouse. Rising horror auteur Mickey Keating (Pod, Darling) directs this gritty, grisly homage to the glory days of grindhouse cinema.
To win this pretty pair of tix, email [email protected] with the words TOTAL CARNAGE! in the subject line.
I’ll choose a winner at random. And please, no nude photos. Thanks in advance.
